With the placement season in the corner, the final year college students are gearing up in full swing to sweep the recruiters off their feet. There’s no big surprise that a student directs his whole life just to secure a position in the top company of their interested field. They take admission in the best placement colleges in Rajasthan with excellent records.

While talent, hard work and knowledge do contribute to a successful placement round; however, with a thousand students competing for a handful of companies, the stakes are low. Therefore, my years of practice in this field and after knowing around 50 recruitment companies closely, has brought me to the conclusion that smart work plays equal importance.

One must have a plan of action read, prepared and practised before the marked day just like aspirants do when they take admission through REAP 2020. To be the best of the best, follow these tips and reserve a place for yourself in your dream company.

PREP WORK FOR PLACEMENTS

1. Prepare a list of companies visiting the campus for recruitment
2. Find out about the general salary packages offered by most of the companies
3. Attend Employer information sessions

DRAFT AN EXCEPTIONAL RESUME

For a fresher, resume plays an indispensable role. Many students fail to realize the importance and the role of a good resume in building careers of many. The resume should be well-structured with proper formatting and presentation. One must keep in mind the position they are applying for and the company profile, ensuring the resume is in line with the company’s discipline.

BRUSH UP APTITUDE TEST SKILLS

This is one of the foremost steps in campus placement exercise. Students are examined on Communication skills, logical reasoning, quantitative ability, and domain knowledge. Students tend to mess up this test out of nervousness and anxiety even though it is one of the easiest to crack. All it requires is thorough practice and focus. Solve practice papers in strict exam conditions with time constraints. Review your curriculum time and again to ensure you haven’t missed out on anything important

INDULGE IN GROUP DISCUSSION

In the group discussion round, the interviewers examine the candidates on their communications skills, their presence of mind, their ability to handle situations well, their conviction and problem-solving skills, etc. Students must work on the following aspects to win over the interviewers:
1. Communications Skills
2. Ability to promptly address issues
3. Clarity of Thought

PREPARE METICULOUSLY FOR PANEL INTERVIEW

This is the round where the students face a set of interviewers and interact with them. Vis-a-Vis the group discussion, a panel interview is more formal, to the point and personal. Students must work on their interview skills.
In fact, top engineering colleges also conduct a personal interview round while conducting B.tech admission of aspiring students. Such is the importance of a personal interview, over and above all.
Therefore, avoid making stupid errors, make to the point conversations and be real. Your answers and responses will be a reflection of your personality.
Therefore, try to stay honest, genuine and your authentic self. Work on body language and personal presentation. Make sure that your gestures are in line with your thoughts.

DRESS CODE

Besides formal attire, one should be well dressed in confidence. They say confidence is the best accessory. With confidence as an armour, one can take on any challenge with ease. It is imperative for students to possess a positive learning attitude.

Keep all your things in order, your documents, your interview attire, notes, etc. a day before the interview. With a positive attitude by your side, step your best foot forward towards your dreams. Nurture your talent and embrace hard work to drive the wheels of progress for yourself.

So, go rock that interview process empowered with knowledge and treasured with smiles. Your future awaits you!
